OMG I HAVE THE SMARTEST NEPHEW IN THE WORLD!

Also, the most adorable, but he shares that with his brother and two cousins. ::G::

Okay, and maybe Clay will one day have to defend his Smartest Nephew In The World title, but for this house tonight? I AM SO FRIGG'N PROUD!

Clay is 5, turns 6 at the very end of next month, and has started school. His birth mother used meth daily durring all of her pregnancies, including both Clay and Brian's. Both have some behaivoral problems, especialy Clay, he's already been kicked out of at least one school and a class or two (at the age of less then six, so pre-school until last year) and daycare because of it, even though compared to other Meth babies, they are MUCH better then expected. They're manigable, but get frustrated and angry easily. And as with all Meth babies, there was always this fear that, despiet how incredibly smart they are, they would develop seroius learning dissabilites.

Tonight, Clay and I sat down, and he wrote his name for me. And knew all the letters. And then he wrote out that 5 5 10 and told me that Five plus Five equils Ten. And then when I showed him two ways to write that out (verticaly, and 5+5=10), Clay looked at the second way, and then wrote out 2+2=4!!

Yes, his 2's looked like S's, and his 4 was backwards, but he wrote the formula correctly on the first try, totaly without prompting! I WAS SO FRIGG'N PROUD OF HIM!! I didn't have the heart to correct his 4, I just gave him a huge hug.

He then also proudly told me that he knew that Zero plus Zero was Zero, like it was the funniest joke in the world. I then explained to him how mulitpuls worked, and he sorta got that. It was a little advanced, but he got up and watched me write out how multiplication works and studdied it very carefuly! \o/

You guys gotta understand, I'm dyslexic. The thought that Clay is so young, and picking up what still is a struggle for me? Despite his age, despite his genetics and the meth and all that crap?? I know he's adopted, so my genetic tendancy towards dyslexia dosn't apply, but still, that's not a fear you get over with kids, same way as I'll watch them both carefuly for signs of alcholal/drug abuse, or easily injured spines, or migranes.

He's READING. And he's WRITING! And he's FIVE! And I am just the proudest auntie EVER right now!

We finished off the night by reading two books, and I taught the boys how Glow In The Dark Paint works, and the whole time, all Clay wanted to do was curl up in my lap and cuddle. Awwww!

And next week? We start reading CHAPTER BOOKS!

SO PROUD! ♥ ♥ ♥

torra: Picutre of Clay as a baby in an elephant costume laughing (Babies: Clay Elephant)
Today is Clay's fourth birthday. In two weeks, it'll be the 4th anniversery of the first time I saw/met/held him. I'm not quite sure what to make of this. ::lol::

I am in no way a kid person, not by any streach of the imagination. I wanted a baby for probably about a week when I was around four...then I grew out of it. Never wanted kids since, not even for a moment. I'm still planning to have a tuboligation as soon as I can get a doctor to do it and have Medicare pay for it.

But Clay...Clay was the first baby in my life I considered mine. And Brain a year after that, of course, but Clay was the first.

I still hate kids, and I reach my limit very, very quickly, even with Clay and Brain and Susan, but that limit of "okay, enough, get them away from me" is higher with these two then any other kid I've ever spent time with in my life.

It was Clay who gave me the name Buddy. I was one of his Favorate People Ever as a baby, could get him to sleep when no one else could, and like with Brain, I could get him to eat more then anyone else, even more then Anne or SueMary could (because of their birth mother's Meth use, it was imparitive that we keep both babies eatting as much as possible, as offten as possible). Clay always wanted to spend time with me. But then one day, he stopped. I went from being a FPE, to being someone he looked at as if confused as to why I was talking to him. No one could figure out why. As soon as he started learning more then just the basic words, he stopped talking to me.

Then one day, outta the blue, we were all playing the "What is/Who is that?" game where you point at something, and he has to say the word for it. And he's brillent, got every name right with people, and right very quickly on objects (expeicaly for his age, wow, both of them are so smart when it comes to words!!). And when mom pointed at me, and asked, "Who's that?" He tilted his head, and looked very confused for a moment. Then after mom said, "Who's that?" again, he nodded once and said, "Buddy."

We were all taken a back, left blinking, so mom said, "Who's that?" and he smiled hugly and said, "BUDDY!" And just like that, in an instant, I was back to being a FPE.

Turns out? Clay couldn't say my name! He just struggled with it for some reason. So rather then stumble saying my name and be left upest with himself, he just stopped talking to me all together. If he didn't spend time with me, no one would ask him to play "who's that" with him. So eventuly he decided to just give me a new name. One he could say.

I've been Buddy ever since.

A name I wear with great pride, too.

I'll never be a kid person, not even if I were the last woman alive and had to contenue the human race. If I'm the last woman able to bare offspring? Sorry, put us on the ex-list, 'coz we're toast. I'm not a kid person...but for Clay, and for Brian and Susan, I'm as close as I'll ever get.

I can't believe it's been four years.

So right as I settled down to talk to [livejournal.com profile] andeincascade about my DSSS Project Of Near Panic and had an E-mail open to [livejournal.com profile] caersmane to do the same, when I get a call from Mom saying that "Oh, BTW, Susan is over here at the house right now..." So needless to say, I made my appologies to Ande (who basicly said, "What, are you kidding? GO!" ::loves her::) and compleatly forgot about the E-mail to Caers (sorry, will do so tonight), and rushed on over.

And I got pics.

Lots and Lots of pics.

Pics of Joe holding his granddaugher for the very first time! Pics of Geoff and Sarah doing the same! Lots of pics of Grandma holding all three of her grandkids at once (never thought she would let them go, once she had them all, she very nearly made a mad dash for the door when Anne and Krista wern't looking).

I can't express in non-gushing-girly words how cute my niece is, people. So instead I'll force the evidence upon you...

At least a few pics...the rest you can go see for yourselves, I supose...

( If You're Reading This, Yes, You Are *Required* To Open This Cut Tag And Look Or I Will Defriend You. I'll Know Who You Are. )

And really, there are more, and they're even more adorable as these ones! You guys can not miss out on these once in a life time photos! The "Awwwwws!" will burst forth from your lips and you'll find yoruself doing the poutey "she's so cuuuute" face when no one is looking! And then blushing when you get cought doing it, and just point to a pic and watch as the person who cought you does the exact same thing!

Really, people, run, don't walk to my Picasa Folder Of Awwww Inspireing Susan Photos! It's a must see event! Run, People, Run!

OMG, Brian turns two years old today.

That's just...mind boggling. I was the first person to hold him when Anne brought him over, he was just bearly a week 'n a half, maybe two weeks old. Even smaller then Clay was in those first months.

::streches:: Feels good to be home, and feels wonderful that the DS_Match SNAFU is all cleared up now and everyone is sharing in the love together again. Thanks to everyone who filled me in last night, I was pretty damned confused signing in to that, and with so many posts spread out all over, I was having troubble finding the cause of stuff. The love fest going on over at the Match home are just wonderful.

And I can't say how touched I am at how many people responded to someone entering my name to the annonomus love thread. I am really, incredibly touched by all the people who've posted nice things about me. {{{HUGS TO EVERYONE}}} I'm trying to go though and do the same to all the wonderful, incredible people who are up there, too, but it's so hard to brake that lurker instict. Even if it's annonomus, it's hard to join in. But there are soooo many people who deserve their awsomeness to be reconised in that list.

If I don't post (not that anyone would know, it is annonomus), know that I really do thing that this is one of the most wonderful, awsome, loving fandoms I've ever run in, and I am incredibly honored to call so many of you my friends. {{{HUGGLES}}}

torra: "I just write what the voices in my head tell me to." (Quote by me, Icon by Selynne) (Default)
Okay, we haven't done a Conversation With Clay in a while, and this one from yesterday amused me to no end. For those of you new around here, every now and then I post conversations that come up between us and the babies, Clay and Brian (previous conversations can be found under the "Conversations With..." tag).   If you haven't noticed yet, I'm Buddy, as Clay was unable to say any of my names or nicknames when he was younger, and it proudly stuck.

Now I've been fighting aginst babytalk since day one, and I refuse to say things like "Nay Nay" instead of "Horse". Anne started the Nay Nay thing, but SueMarry agrees with me (Anne being their addopted mother, SueMarry being her partner, who has a daughter from a previous marrage named Carson).

The five of us are sitting around the room, Dad in the red chair, me on the foot stool, across the room Brian is playing in Mom's lap, and Clay is running around on his scooter playing delivery man. Mom asks Clay to pick up and bring her the doll that Brian dropped.

Clay: "Why dosen't Brian have the doll?"
Mom: "It was wrapped up in the blanket, and when he moved it fall-ed out."
    Me: "Fell out."
    Clay: "Huh?"
Mom: "The doll fall-ed out of the blanket."
    Me: "Fell."
Clay: ::picks up the doll and brings it to Mom:: "What happend?"
    Mom: "It fall-ed out."
    Clay: "Fell."
    Me: ::Happy Happy:: ::Proud Proud::

Now tell me, how can you not be proud at a moment like that? ::LOL:: He may only be three, but by god, this child will learn the proper Queen's English! ...or at least as much of the Queen's English as I speek myself...okay, so he'll know how to say stuff like "Bloody" and "Bugger" and "Smeg", mostly, but by god, he'll use the words correctly!

I'm really not feeling well, and this'll probably be just riddled with typos considering the curent levels of medications in me, so I appologise, I know it's gunna be even worse then normal. But today is Clay's third birthday, and I just felt that this event should be marked, since I won't actualy see him. So I just thought I'd throw up some quick Pic Spam.

These are just a few images that I love and that stand out in my mind when I think of pics of Clay. Even if you're not into baby pics (because god knows that I'm normaly not), I do hope that these'll at least make you smile for a moment today.

Okay, that's it, my Auntie duties are done and I'm going to crash. Happy Birthday, Clay. Your Aunt Buddy loves you.

But that was just too cute.

Okay, so tonight is Sine Die (prononced Sigh-nee di-ee, usualy), which is the act of closeing a legislative session, which apprently Anne had to be at work for, so the plan was for Mom and I to have the kids, while Dad was at a going away party for a workmate, and he'd make it home in time to help put them to bed.

( Well, That Was The *Orignal* Plan, At Least )

Anyhow, all that wasn't the "OMG So Cute" part. The OMG So Cutetm part was ( The Story Of Nick And The Boys )

Okay, and now I'm beyond the rambling story stage and into the babbling phase. ::lol:: Sorry 'bout that. Meds. ::shrugs:: Anyhow how, to sum up: Kids doing shots of half-and-half, cute but disturbing; Mom buying more wheeled toys of death, cute but scarry; Nick with Clay and Brian, cute byond words, but disturbing for Nick; Nick in genroal, Awwwww, he does love me! {{huggle vibes in the dirction of Nick's tank}}

PS: Also, I think I now need a Pets icon. Spacificly one of Nick, but one to use when talking about the family pets in genoral. Hummm...

Okay, it's offical, we never should have tought Brian ( The Word 'Ow' )

Okay, and that was all kinda depressing, so to end on a slightly higher note, how about a little "Conversation With Clay" from last Saturday?

(Papa, Clay, and Brian are sitting in/climbing on the red chair and footstool we keep by the window. Clay is in Papa's lap, and Brian want's up too, so he tries to climb up, but starts to fall, so Papa catches him):

Papa: "Brian wants to join us, huh?"
    Clay: "Yah."
Papa: "Think we should help him?" (holding Brian's legs now)
    Clay: "No."
Papa: (picks Brian up and holds him upside down, which Brian LOVES byond all reason) "Think we should drop him on his head?" (teasing)
    Clay: (sits up) "Yah!"
Papa: (laughs) (sets Brian down in his lap) "Nooo. Silly. We don't want to drop Brian on his head."
    Clay: (pouts) "Why not?"

(Buddy proptly looses it laughing across the room)

torra: "I just write what the voices in my head tell me to." (Quote by me, Icon by Selynne) (Default)
Sometimes I really love those kids. I've been ticcing badly for days, incredibly sore, can hardly move, but still ticcing. Mom was feeling bad last night, so somehow I ended up helping Joe with the boys for a few hours despite my ticcing. I love how they bearly notice my tics. I really, really do. I meen, objectivly it makes sense, They've seen me ticcing since they were newborns, they learned quickly to even keep eatting from the bottle when I couldn't hold still, and Brian wouldn't even wake up when he fell asleep in my arms and I was ticcing. But I keep expecting that to change as they get older.

So far, they still just except it as part of Buddy. ::big grin:: Last night they'd look over, as if to make sure I was still there, and then just go back to whatever they were doing.

Today, however, when I came up for breakfast, Brian (as always as soon as he sees me) wanted Up, and within moments of being in my arms, desided I was danceing. ::blows hair outta face:: Have you ever held a one year old in yer arms while both you and he are trying to Mosh in difret directions? ::shakes head:: It dosn't work well.

And of course, nothing we did could convince him that I wasn't dancing, that kid is a dancing fool. Anything with a rythemic beat, he's bopp'n along to, big 'ol grin on his face. And apprently today I had a rythmeic beat. ::snorts::

I love that kid, but really, it's a merical I didn't drop him on his head today. Kid has no self preservation insticts. He even tried to stage dive, I sware to god I'm not makeing that up. ::shakes head:: I really love them...but... ::shakes head:: ::chuckles::

torra: "I just write what the voices in my head tell me to." (Quote by me, Icon by Selynne) (Default)
Okay, I'm making this a seprate post, because it really has nothing to do with [livejournal.com profile] podfic_tips (::poke poke::), but I didn't wanna put stuff under cuts, because I want people to actualy see the [livejournal.com profile] podfic_tips annoucment. ::poke poke:: So seprate posts it is...

Clay has officaly taught Brian to say "why". ::headesk:: This has been Clay's favorate word ever for about six months or more, now, and he uses it over, and over, and over, and... Every other breath it's "why?" And it just dosent end. Weeeelll, now Brian is doing it. Only Brian can't quite pronouce it, and he (thankfuly) dosen't quite understand what it meens. So it's more "Uh-ieeee?" Which he says to anything we say to him that's not a question.

Brian: ::points to soda cans on window sill::
Buddy (ME): "No, those are Papa's."
Brian: "Uh-ieee?" ::keeps pointing::

::sighs:: Right now, we are only postive he is trying to say "Why", because his useing the exact tone and inflection that Clay uses for the word (the same ever time). Anything Clay does, Brian has to do, every toy Clay has, Brian wants, too. It works both ways, but Brian is a little more clingy about it. With Clay, the wanting the same things is more a jeliousy issue, with Brian it's more...I don't know if Hero Worship is quite accureate, here, Jeliousy is part of it, but I think it's more that Brian's never known a time in his life without Clay, where Clay was quite happy as an only child for that first year. So Brian is used to doing everything in pairs, so if one of them does soemthing by themselves, it dosen't look/feel right to Brain.

At least that's my guess.

So, for Clay to say a word over and over and over (God, that word with that inflection has hunted my dreams, I'm not kidding), Brian must therefor learn and use it, too, even if he dosen't quite get what it meens yet...but GOD, we know it's just a matter of time. He's useing it correctly, he just dosen't understand our responce to it, yet. ::sighs:: ::Shakes head::

It is, however, also the most preshus thing you've ever heard. ::proud auntie face::

Oh, and they're both also compleatly addicted to Tattoos. I'm so proud! I got the first set on a whim, my LORE Group meets at Dirty Dave's (Dirty Dave's Gay 90's Pizza Parlor & Subs, here in Oly) every month, and in the entryway, they have the usual candy and sticker misheens you find in any family restraunt. But they also have one of the tattoo masheens for between 25-50¢s each, and they recently filled one of the slots with Seahawks tattoos. Well, since Mom and Dad have tought Clay that the Seahawks Rule, and Football Good (despite the fact that they're not suposed to watch TV), I thought it'd be cute to get some Seahawks tattoo's for Clay.

Well, I got a few others as well and...well, it took awhile for Clay to get the consept of a "sticker that dosen't come off" until a week later when it does. But once he got it, he LOVED them. Dad even got him some Harly Davidson tattoos (Clay loves Mortercycles, or, well Moto-cyciles, as he pronouces them), and he was so proud! He loves having something he can bond over with Papa.

So he liked them so much, I kept getting them. A few each month everytime I had a LORE meetup. Now, you don't ever see Clay without at least one or more tattoos on him! He can't stand the idea of not being inked! He loves them. He's really into "scarry" tattoo's right now. Since you don't really get to choose which tattoo comes out of those macheens (you just see the series, and the actual tattoo you get is random), I got a Skull with a Snake and a Rose or something early on, and we didn't think he'd go for it, and didn't really want him to because we knew Anne would hate it (well, Mom didn't want him to... ::G::). But he saw it (Oh, gee, sorry, it must have slipped from the bottom of the pile where I hid it...) and loved it imideatly, and put it on his belly, so he could flip up his shirt and scare every body.

So now he loves all scarry tattoos. Skulls, snakes, dragons...the macheen I use has a "Japanese" sereis, that's mostly dragons and tigers with flaimes around them, and he loves those. Scarry tattoo's always go on his belly, unless his belly already has something, in which case it goes onto his forarm. Only...he's gotten so used to there being a scarry tattoo on his belly, that now any tattoo on his belly must be, in his mind, scarry, right? Well, I ran out of scarry tattoos last month, so instead he had a rainbow with white fluffy clouds on his belly...but it was on his belly so it had to have been terrifying! ::LOL:: He got so confused when he lifed up his shirt, and people didn't gasp and run away (he has us so well trained ::LOL::). So we had to spend that whole week explaining to people we met to act scarred of the rainbow, otherwise he got really upset and confused. ::LOL::

Well, of curse, with those two, if one does something, the other has to as well. Brian wanted something too, but didn't get the consept at all, but he knew that when Clay got one, it was a group event. We all sit there with him and as a group we all count to thirty (it's incredible to watch how fast he's learning his nubers now, because he hears 1-30 so offten! ::LOL::) and we're all cheering and laughing, and it's a lot of fun, and Brian wanted to be a part of that. But...then we stuck this washcloth on him, which he hates, and then the thing wouldn't come off, which he really hated...

We put the first one on his foot, and oh LORD he spet hours trying to rub it off. We were really affraid he'd panic or hurt himself, so we kept trying to re-inforce that it was this really cool thing.

Well, we kinda thought, okay, we tried, he hated it, so this'll be Clay's thing. ...Only the next week, Brian wanted one again. ...Right up until the count of 20, which is when he desideds the washcloth is evil and starts crying again. Putting Tattoos onto Brian is always a two person job, one to hold him still, one to hold the washcloth and tattoo on. God, you'd think we were torturing him. But the more we did it, the more he loved the tattoo once it was actualy on. And now he's actualy picking them out himself (sorta).

Well, yesterday, for the very first time, we got all the way to 30 and Brian didn't cry or try to get away once! He was actualy happy the whole time. The first thing he does each and every time is still to try to eat it, but then he's happy and runs around the house showing everyone his new fish, or flower, or bird, or whatever. He even leared to really say "fish" because we kept putting Fish on his right foot for about three solid weeks.

So now they're both coverd pretty much head to toe with tattoos, 24/7. I'm so proud! I gotta get some pics of that for ya. It really is just halarous. They know Buddy always has tattoos for them, and they love it. ::LOL:: I'm so proud of them.

Another year down, and another Christmsas is up. Yay! I no longer have to hide the christmas music on my .mp3 player, I can now blast it over the car stereo! ::LOL:: I can even pretend like the snowflakes hanging in the hallway outside my bedroom haven't been there all year...I can even add to them! ::LOL:: And I get to officaly pimp the meme. But First, let's wrap up Thanksgiving.

( This Way To The Last Of Trukey Day )

( And onto Christmas... )

Okay, I really do think that's everything now. I know I've been babbling on at you all for a little too long at this point. I got a migrane last night (predicted) and took more meds this morning, so, yah, you guys know that usualy meens long, random, rambling posts. ::shrugs:: Just be glad I don't take Demoral for these anymore. ::LOL:: If I was, you guys would never get me to shut up. ;-p~

torra: "I just write what the voices in my head tell me to." (Quote by me, Icon by Selynne) (Default)
Well, Clay has officaly started potty training...god help us all. I am officaly having nothing to do with this. I only changed Clay's dipers once, I think, and I only change Brian when he's wet. If he's messy, he's Mom or Dad's problem. I love those kids, but I don't do dipers.

Neither do I do potty training, Toilet Paper 101, "This Is How You Flush", or...accidents. At best, I'll read him "Everybody Poops"...though it's not really nessicary, he'll go out of sight if he's messing his diper, but if you ask him if that's what he's doing, he'll say yes. So he's not really ashamed of it or anything. And he'll almost always say he dosn't need to be changed, no matter what, not just with messy dipers, because he dosn't like to be changed. So I don't think that's gunna be a big issue with him. He's being raised in a pretty open enviroment, and he always asks if he wants to know something. Even words I'm not suposed to be teaching him. ::snickers::

Today, I was teasing Mom about her being gone so much durring these two months for work, and when Clay asked "Why Grama go away?" I replied, "Because she dosen't love us anymore."

::big ass grin:: The look Mom gave me...my GOD it was perfect. So now I've got him trained already. I ask "Clay, why is Granma leaving again?" he replies "Granma dosn't love us an'mo'r." ::snicker::

Oh, he'll have forgotten it by next week, but for now it's fucking halarious. Not really nice, but nothing worse then she's done to me. ::LOL::

Anyhow, what made me sit down to write this: I went in to use the bathroom in Mom and Dad's room while the main one was busy, and I see the new Kid Potty, plastic and in friendly 80's colors of purple, green, and yellow. The orignal box is next to it I see it's labled as "Kids Training Potty And Step Stool."

Okay, first off, poop/stool puns aside, am I the only one who think this is a bad idea? Am I the only person who thinks it's a bad idea to have kids crawling all over a bucket of crap? Climbing on a bucket of crap? To reach other stuff, thereby transfuring the new potty germs all over the house...

Yeeeeaaaaah. Can I repeat once again: I Have Nothing To Do With This Stage. I'll be there to help him with his ABCs, his fractions, his first date (girl or boy), and so on. Potty training? Yah, I'll check in with him again in, what, a year? That about how long it genoraly takes to get the basics down, right? ::sigh::

torra: "I just write what the voices in my head tell me to." (Quote by me, Icon by Selynne) (Default)
You know, I used to think I disliked Loki. Well my hated of Juliet has nothing on how much I thought I disliked Loki. GOD that bird should be someone's dinner.

Okay, so most of you remember how my eldest sister and her husband adopted a Rescue cackatoo about six months ago from a sevearly neglectful home. Juliet loves Sean, and is cool with Krista, but attacks everyone else, and Krista and Sean fucking reward the behavior. They used to go on about how to properly care for, and yes, dissipline, birds, and they used to go on and on about what Dainkia was doing wrong with Loki...but the moment they get a large bird of their own, all that goes right out of their fucking heads.

In the first month, she bit Danika so hard on the nose, she has a scar. Krista picked Juliet up and cuddled her for it. The first time I visted with her in that first month, she ran up my leg and bit me on the stomach and the arm, and she also bit Danika on the arm and on the back of the neck three times. When Sean's father was dying, they went down to be with him in his final days, and I came up to bird sit, because Danika flat out refused. The first day, the very first morning of the first day, I uncoverd her cage, opend the door to let her out, and turned go do the same to Maddy and Dolly.

She had only seen my face for about 15 seconds that morning, and the moment my back was turned, she jumped out of the cage and onto the back of my head and started attacking.

I was on antibotics for three days because she had had a staff infection when Krista and Sean first got her, even though she'd been clean when she attacked me, I still had to be on meds to prevent staff-cross-over. My doctor said another half milimiter in any diretion width or depth and I would have required stiches.

So when Krista told me they're going away for a long weekend back to where they honeymooned in the San Juan Islands, and asked me to birdsit, I was understandably "...are you shitting me?"

But good and loving (and co-dependant and guilt-suseptable) sister that I am, I told her if she behaves when I stay overnight up there on Friday (tonight) before my Saturday class, then I'll consider it. If she even tries to attack so much as one of my rings or buttons, then she's getting sent to the vet's kennel.

Well, she was okay for awhile. I left her in the cage when I got up here at 2pm, and she didn't get out 'til Krista got home at 6. She even sat on my knee for a bit and I pet her and preened her a bit and when she started to go for my rings or my sholder, I repremanded her, and forced her back on my knee, and she was fine. I praised her for obaying, and we went back to petting.

But I needed to call Linda, so I handed her back to Krista so I could get my phone. While I was bent over, she climbed up onto the back of the coutch and then lept down onto my back and bit me again.

Thankfuly she didn't got for my head this time, she got my sholder. She didn't brake the skin, meraculasly, but it feels like she might as well have. Honestly, it feels like someone jabbed a Bone Marrow Needle into my scapula. I have to have an ice pack strapped across my back just so I can move my arm.

Yah. SO not spending another minute with this bird around me out of her cage. Ever. Last change used and abused.

So Krista went back to her room and cired because I wouldn't birdsit her hell spawn.

::shakes head:: Sometimes I fucking hate family. Not enough to reconsider the bird thing, mind you, because if I'm left alone for a week with her again, she's liable to become Sunday Night Dinner. But all the same...fuck. ::sighs::

I now have ice packs on both my sholder and my leg. Give me one more, and I'll be auditioning for the new Klondike Bar spokes person. ::sighs::

ETA: I just got this icon this morning, I really, really didn't think I'd have cause to use it so fucking soon. ::sighs:: ::rubs temples:: ::reconsiders and starts rubbing sholder::

First off, this is my first offical post on My Brand New Laptop! Woot!!

The design on the cover (a sworled lines pattern, very Japanese) is makeing me lean towords Uzu for a name (if you missed the comments conversation with [livejournal.com profile] tinheart, it meens "sworling watter"), however I'm not sure it really fits. In fact, I haven't yet figured out if this laptop is positavly male or female! With Vysaka I knew instantly, and Daemon was kinda ambiguius (not androginous, just not always definatly one or the other). I'll keep ya guys updated on the name thing.

That being said, I lead us into the next installment of:

Conversations With Clay

*setting: Dad, Clay, and I in a car driving to the store. Clay keeps takeing off his shoes, and I'm getting very furstrated putting them back on. He takes it off one more time and he wants to put it on himself, so I turn back around to face front*

Dad: *amused by this and driving* "Aren't you glad you want kids?"
Me: ::glairing:: "I do not want kids and you damn well know it. I love these two but NO."
Dad: "Oh yes you do. At least six or seven."
Me: "No."
Dad: "Maybe a dozen, right Clay?"
Clay: ::still fiddling with his shoe:: "Yah."
Me: "I know where you sleep."
Dad: "And all of them all at once."
Me: "I can make you no longer a man in yer sleep, too, remember."
Dad: ::laughing:: "Bobbit-ize."
Clay: "Yah."
Dad: "Do you want PaPa to be be demasculated, Clay?"
Clay: ::bursts out chearing and makeing happy noises::

At this point, Dad had to slam on the brakes (thankfuly we were in the parkinglot by now) and Clay is giving us both the weirdest "WTF?" looks as we're both doubbled up laughing. He honestly dosn't undersand why we think it's so funny that he managed to get his shoe back on his foot all by himself.

You know, I have the feeling that this is gunna become a regular artical. ::G::

Conversation With Clay Yesterday.

*Setting: Dad and Clay are by the window, Mom is in the kitchen, Kate is sitting at the table as she and I both help Brian eat in his high chair. Waiting for Joan to arive, so we can grab some dinner before going to a Midnight showing of Harry Potter*

Dad: ::looks out the window:: She's here.
Me: Troubble?
Dad: ::snort:: Joan.
Clay: ::looks up, hopeful::
Dad: You wanna see Joan?
Clay: No.
Dad: No?
Clay: Wanna see Troubble!

*At this point I'm laughing so hard, I can't breathe*

Me: Hay Clay, if we wanna see Troubble, we'd better let her know!
Mom: You gotta call for her.
Me: Come on.
*Clay and I stand infront of the gate by the stairs above the front door*
Clay & Me: ::calling:: Troubble!! TRUUUUUUUBLE!!
Joan: ::opens the door:: ::looks confused::
Clay: TROUBBLE!!
Me: ::once again laughing so hard I can't breathe::

Can I just say, I am so so bloody proud of that boy? ::snickering:: He's met Joan before, so he knows of her, at least, though he may not really remember her. But the fact that he associated her with a word I tossed out and matched it up with her before she even came into the house? ::snickering:: He won't call her anything else, now, either. Even when we were leaving it was "Bye-bye Buddy! Bye-bye Troubble!"

Took me awhile to convince Joan that Clay giving her a name is a huge honor. Krista is still simply "UH!" Sometimes with pointing, sometimes not. Sean dosn't even have a regular grunt, just a point. Took Joan awhile to realise that Clay dosn't just pick up names naturaly, it's one of the few things he dosn't do quickly. Names are important, they're meeningful, and once given, names can't be changed! ::falls over laughing::

torra: "I just write what the voices in my head tell me to." (Quote by me, Icon by Selynne) (Default)
::Clay spills something on the floor yesterday::
Mom: Clay, you gotta clean that up. You spilled it, you gotta clean it.
Clay: Gam'ma did it.
Mom: No, Grandma didn't do it. You did it.
Clay: Papa did it!
Mom: No, Papa didn't do it.
Clay: Buddy home?
Mom: ::confused:: No, Buddy's not here. Buddy gone.
Clay: Buddy did it!

::snickering:: Sometimes I'm so proud of that boy! ...When he's not blameing me for his messes, at least...well...sometimes even then. Proud he figured out to blame the one person who's not there and so couldn't deny it! ::snickers::

Okay, This may be a little odd, but I do tend to get tired of explaining who everyone is, so I thought it'd be a good idea to create a little character guide to help you all follow along. I'll go though and update this one with further info or to add people on or what not over time. Let me know if I've forgotten you and you want to be added (and no, I won't be adding EVERYONE).

So, without further ado (huh, I seem to be using that word a lot lately, how strange), I present to you:

The Cast Of Characters

Judi: Mom - AKA: "Gam'ma" or "Grandma" or "Gramma" to the babies
Joe: Dad - AKA: "Papa" and "Bo" to the babies
George: Biological father, not in the picture
Krista: Oldest Sister - AKA: "Uhh!" to the babies
Sean: Krista's husband - AKA: ... (Clay just points to him)
Danika: Next sister down (curenlty not speeking because she's an Uber Bitch) (She's till an uber-bitch, but family being what it is, I am now forced to once again play nice and pretend she's not) - AKA: "Geeka" to the babies
Geoff: Older Brother - "Eff" to the babies, sometimes "Vroom Vroom" as Clay knows Geoff has a motercycle, recently titled "Un'kl G'eff" by Clay
Sarah: Geoff's Wife - Hasn't spent enough time with the babies for a name...
Torra: ME! The youngest of the lot - AKA: "Buddy" to the babies

Clay: Anne's eldest adopted child and biological brother to Brian. We care for them sevral days a week
Brian: Younger of Anne's two adopted sons and biological brother to Clay.
Anne: Clay and Brian's mother. Works with my mom.
SueMary: (Yes, in that order) Anne's gilfriend. Has a daughter from a previous wife, I forget her ex's name, but I'm pretty sure her daughter's name is Carson.

Clay and Brian are, for all intents and purposes, Mom and Joe's grandkids. Even Anne's mom refers to Mom as their Grandma. We may not be realted either by biology or law, but they're ours. It's just...we live with the fear every day that Anne's suddenly gunna deside that she dosn't want another family and take them away. Don't think she will, if nothing else she gets thousands of hours of free babysitting by a woman who raised for kids of her own, not to mention all the stuff they buy those babies...but the fear will always be there.

[rant mode] Clay and Brian have two older sibblings and a younger set of twin sisters. The Birth Mother had six children in five years. State did not alow her to keep any of them, and she wasn't even alowed to hold any after giving birth from Clay on down. Thankfuly, we've sense heard a rumor that she's had her tubes tied, so I won't have to go and do it for her with a rusty spoon and a bit of old string. Meth and Pregnacny do not mix, and as much as I love Clay and Brian and wouldn't want to change them for the world, that woman should never have been alowed to leave the hosptail fertile in the first place! I don't usualy believe in forced sterilisation, but for her, I'd make an exception.
[/rant mode]

Selynne: Sister and Bestest Friend Ever
Joan: Bestest Friend Ever - AKA: "Troubble" to the babies (See Conversations With Clay)
Robin: Bestest Friend Ever Was one of my closest friends in this world, until she very suddenly desided we were no longer worthy of her friendship, and cut Joan and I (and everyone else she knew in the Pagan Comunity) out of her life. Have not heard from her since she told us it was over last summer.
Marty: Mom's Bestest Friend Ever
Barbra: Mom's Bestest Friend Ever
Donna: My mom's best friend who lives closest to her, here in the same city where as Barbra and Marty whom she's known for thirty years and more both live up North. Donna has been battling cancer for a number of years, and gone into remission several times. As of early in 2008, it has progressed to nearly every organ in her abdoman, her bones, her lympatic system, and her lungs. She is not expected to live more then six months (down from the estimate of three years she was given when this last reoccurance was diagnosed at the end of 2007)
Gary, Mary, JJ: Dad's Bestest Friend Ever, Wife, and Son

Grandma Mary: Mom's Mom
Dale: Eldest of Mom's five younger brothers
MaryLou: Dale's wife
Robyn: (Yes, with a Y) Dale's eldest
T.J.: Dale's Youngest
David, ?, Mikey, Donny: Mom's brother, his wife who's name I forget, and their two sons (Mikey is a year yonger then I am, and Donny a year or two younger then that, makeing them the closest blood relitives to my own age)
Paul, Penny, Ashley: Mom's brother, his wife, and their daughter.

(There are three more sibblings in mom's family: one brother, one deceased brother, and one half sister, and I can't remember either of the brother's names at the moment...needless to say, they are not big in our lives. ::shrugs:: I'll update this when the names come to me.)

Grandma Ramona: Joe's Mom
Grandpa George: Joe's Dad
Jack, Jan, Justin, Jacob: Joe's brother, Sister-In-Law, and two sons
Doug, Susie: Joe's brother and sister-in-law
Susan, (forget Husband's name): Joe's sister, I can't remember her Husband's name right now

Random People In My Life

Kate: A 17 year old Civic's student who is acting as mom's assistant for the summer. She's living with us durring the week and will be here for the next two months. She moved in on 7/9/'07 (See Another Of Mom's Guests), and she has since finished up her program with Mom and returned to her regular life.
Dr. Faiola: My Primary Care Physician (I have to go see him in person at least once a month to pick up meds)
Dr. Larson: My Dentist

Non-Human "People" In My Life

Tenrai: My Curent (and first ever) Laptop. In the first 48 hours of being with him, I wrote around 10,000 new words of fic, and was up to 15,000+ a day later. In honor of this, I gave him the name Tenrai, which is the Japenese word for "Inspire" or "Insperation". (See Come Meet The Newest Member Of The Family for pics and tech specs and why he has a Japenese name)
Vysaka: My Prevous Computer. Vysaka is the Shin'a'in word for the speritual bond that connects a Kel'endral Warrior Priest to their Goddess. She is now my Dad's computer, and the money he gave to me for her helped me pay for Tenrai.
Daemon: My old computer, named after the Virus in ReBoot, R.I.P
Mortis: My Car, Mortis being the latin word for Death, he was named after the pale horse Death rode in the Incarnations of Imortality by Piers Anthony.

Pets Over The Years

Nick: My pet Newt, who's full name is Nick The Niffty Neat Newt. Been with me for about six years now 'n still go'n strong.
Rongar: My first Beta fish, R.I.P.
Jesus: My second Beta fish, R.I.P.
Gnat: My Frog, R.I.P.
Batty Cat: First pet that was "Mine", R.I.P.
Snowball: Batty Cat's son, only one of all her litters we kept. Black cat whom I named Snowball out of a child's sence of Irony. Ran away after I left George. M.I.A. probably R.I.P.
Sandy: Family Dog while I was growing up, R.I.P.
Tooter: Family Dog while I was growing up, R.I.P.
Mitsy: Cat, ran away when we moved when I was five, don't remember her much, she haded kids.
Fred: My pet Clam. Only had him for a week. George wanted to turn him into Chowder and Geoff and I rebelled.
Loki: Danika's Severe Macaw, Female.
Maddy (Maddison): Krista and Sean's Cockatiel, Male.
Dolly: Krista and Sean's Cockatiel, Female. she was Grandma's first, then ours, then when Krista moved into her first appartment, she became Krista's and they bonded imideatly. Been in my life since I was about 8 years old. Died in 2007. R.I.P.
Juliet: Krista and Sean's Cockatoo, Female. She was a reascue. Her previous owners kept her with mate, Romeo, but after he died they lost intrest in her, locked her away alone in a room, and she plucked herself silly. She's already sevearly bitten both Danika and I sevral times. She got Danika on the nose, and she attacked the back of my head. I almost needed stiches. Neither of us want anything to do with her.

ETA: And yes, I realise some of my explanations may seem kinda bitchey...and they probably are. But if I wrote them that way, that should probably just serve to give you context to my later comments about them in posts. I promace you, however, that there are reasons behind every bitchey comment, petty or old or grudge related though I admit they may be. ::G::
